The Metta Shaker is an 'egg shaker' style handheld shake and rattle percussion box with a standard 1/4" guitar cable output.
Traditionally, egg shakers are housed in small easy-to-break plastic enclosures that require an external microphone to amplify or record, thus making live use practically impossible. The Metta Shaker is designed to plug straight into effects, mixers, amps etc letting the player adjust the EQ however they desire.
A small amount of reverb creates a soft percussive accompaniment for acoustic instruments while a heavy amount of distortion provides wild sounds and textures useful in harsh noise and experimental music.

Filled with organic rice in a wooden / silicon sealed compartment, amplified by a handwired piezo pickup system. This is a passive device that requires no batteries or electricity to work.
